Yellow and Green Onyx Necklace
Yellow and Green Onyx Necklace
Wow! You will make a statement when you wear this gorgeous yellow and green banded onyx piece. Enjoy the happiness it creates with its bright colors, even on those dark and stormy days. The smaller oval pieces are lampwork glass which compliment the green and striping seen again in the onyx rounds. The other yellow rondelles are ‘dragon veins agate’.

Onyx is a banded variety of chalcedony, its bands ranging in a wide array of colors. It is a strength-giving stone, aiding confidence and useful for athletes or people under stress. Its energy is a mental tonic and can help you cope with fears and worries, making you feel in harmony with your surroundings. Agate is a microcrystalline variety of silica, chiefly chalcedony, characterized by its fineness of grain, brightness of color, and potential striping. Each individual agate forms by filling a cavity in host rock. As a result, agate is often found as a round nodule, with concentric bands like the rings of a tree trunk. The bands sometimes look like eyes. In ancient times, it was said to quench thirst and protect against fever. Agate enhances mental function, improving concentration, analytical abilities. It soothes, heals tension and creates a sense of security. Agate heals the eyes, stomach and uterus; cleanses the lymphatic system and the pancreas; strengthens blood vessels and heals skin disorders.

Dragon veins agate is also known as spider vain agate, or crackle agate. It is chalcedony quartz that forms in concentric layers in a wide variety of colors and textures. It is believed to bring good fortune, health, wealth and long life, as well as quenching thirst and preventing fevers.

This necklace measures 17 7/8" from end to end, including the clasp.
